Weighted walking has been shown to improve bone health and is also necessary for many athletes and competitors who participate in obstacle course racing where they must carry a load for extended periods over difficult terrain.  When walking on a treadmill put on a weight vest or carry a SandBell on either shoulder and set an incline and pace that is challenging but manageable.  For walking or jogging outside throw on a weight vest from 5-20 lbs and cruise the neighborhood or find a great trail with some challenging hills.  Another alternative is to find a set of stairs and just climb and descend over and over again!

Social distancing doesn't mean you can't interact with others.  Walking in your community is a great way to stay in touch, meet new people and improve your health and build immunity.  Grab your four legged friend and head out today!
